  • Science
    • Many small fish live in groups called shoals.
    • Sharks balance in the water because of their fins. If they stop swimming they sink.
    • Rays are flat fish with mouths are on the bottom.  They swam over our hands as we fed them.  Rachel would have nothing to do with feeding the stingrays.
    • Dog whelks are hunters that climb onto the shells of animals and drill a hole in the shell before sucking out the soft part of the animal.
    • Sand contains crushed coral, broken seashells, & broken rock. We placed a few shells and small rocks in a bag and covered it with a towel.  With a hammer we crushed them until they became sand.  Use an old rag because it will be tattered. We changed bags a few times because they kept ripping.

    • An Estuary is where fresh water flows into saltwater.
    • Ocean Currents
    • Note that there are a few false statements in this video. We used this as a learning opportunity and talked about how non Christians see the earth as "billions" of years old. Another incorrect statement was about it raining since the creation of the earth. We know that it never rained before the flood.
    • Experiment: Mixing Fresh & Saltwater
    • Book of Animals - Animals that Live in The Water Pages 199-214: Sea Horse, Shark, Starfish, & Whale.

    • Duolingo is a fun, free, & fantastic learning tool.
    • Much of the learning happens in the form of quizzes, which switch between testing speaking, listening, and writing. The grammar and sentence constructions become progressively difficult as you go along. It keeps reviewing previously learned words, allowing you to progress from basic words all the way through various verb tenses and abstract ideas.
    • We love that we can compare progress with our friends.
  • Typing Fun
