MFW CTG Weeks 10-11

What We Learned:

Bible

• Memory Verse:  The 10 Commandments review 2 Timothy 3:16-17
• Bible Reading: Our Journey through the Bible covered Genesis 40 - Exodus 2:  Pharaoh's Dreams,  Joseph's Brothers in Egypt, Joseph making himself known, Joseph's Family moving to Egypt,  The Hebrews becoming Slaves to the birth of Moses. 

• MFW Bible Reader: "God's Plan," & "A Baby in a Basket" 
• Biblical Worldview - We Continued exploring the characteristics of God.   Though He is invisible He has made himself known throughout history in many different forms.  We were created in the image of God and gave us a mind capable of thinkings, reasoning & creating.

• Egyptian Waterclocks Sundials only functioned when sunlight was present. Since this method couldn't keep constant time, another method was needed.  The earliest know example of the water clocks dates back to 1500BC.
  
   

Timeline

• We added Israel in Egypt, Code of Hammurabi, & We added Israel in Egypt, Code of Hammurabi, & Moses to our timeline.  

• We reviewed our timeline events by places the names of the people in events in chronological order.    
  

Science

  In our experiement the pennies wrapped in foil sank immediately, but the same pennies added to the foil "tray" floated on the water.  Though the weight was the same, the weight on the tray was distributed on a larger volume.

Spanish

• Duolingo is a fun, free, & fantastic learning tool.
• Much of the learning happens in the form of quizzes, which switch between testing speaking, listening, and writing. 
• The grammar and sentence constructions become progressively difficult as you go along. It keeps reviewing previously learned words,allowing you to progress from basic words all the way through various verb tenses and abstract ideas. 
• We love that we can compare progress with our friends.
