Song of the Brook - Book report

Song of the Brook is a Christian fiction book by Matilda Nordtvedt.  The story begins with the main characters, John and Hilda, moving to Bellingham.  When they arrived, they met their cousin Thora.  Since Thora had a beautiful house, Hilda felt envy of all the things she had.  Hilda was so disappointed with her new house, because the stairs needed to be fixed and paint was needed.

One day Thora told Hilda she was jealous of her.  “Jealous of her,” Hilda was bewildered.  She had been jealous of Thora.  Thora’s family always fought, but Hilda’s family was kind and loving.   They became wonderful friends and wished they could be sisters.  Hilda told Thora about Jesus and helped her be a Christian.  Hilda learned to be thankful and content with what she had.
