MFW ECC Week 11 - Brazil

To celebrate our completion of Brazil we experienced the rainforest at the Dallas World Aquarium.  We enjoyed the canopy level and the various species of birds.  We were completely amazed watching how slowly the sloth moved as he ate.  Next we descended into the understory level. We were so surprised at size of the giant anteaters.  We had so much fun trying to count the different camouflaged animals.  It became a competition to see who could find the most animals.

We studied birds and how God designed birds to reproduce by making eggs. We were amazed at how difficult it was to break an egg. The arc shape of an egg is one of the strongest shapes.  We also learned that God created a bird's feathers with a natural oil that makes them waterproof.  We put oil on a feather and watched the water bead up and fall off the feather - even when put under the faucet.

• Duolingo is a fun, free, & fantastic learning tool. 
• Much of the learning happens in the form of quizzes, which switch between testing speaking, listening, and writing. The grammar and sentence constructions become progressively difficult as you go along. It keeps reviewing previously learned words, allowing you to progress from basic words all the way through various verb tenses and abstract ideas.
