I really like playing the Oregon Trail game. I have learned that the Oregon Trail was a very long trip. Some people rode in wagons and some people had to walk all the way. Sometimes the wagons broke down. Other times the wagon tipped over in the rivers. You had to hunt for food. Lots of people got sick and many people died. Life on the trail was very hard. ( By Gracie)
As we finished our lesson on the Oregon Trail we decided to make a fire and roast marshmallows. We read Minnow and Rose: An Oregon Trail Story. They decided to camp out by the fire. So we snuggled in our sleeping bags and read a few chapters from Laura Ingals Wilder's novel On the Banks of Plum Creek. What an enjoyable evening.
Additional reading this week
Lacie read Minnow and Rose: An Oregon Trail Story by Judy Young. Gracie read A Perect Place: Joshua's Oregon Trail Diary by Patricia Hermes.
